We are Spiritual Beings
So many people live in fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of success and fear of death are just a few worries that haunt people in their everyday lives. On the spiritual path, we begin to uncover the truth of who we really are — souls inhabiting a human body for a finite amount of time. While the human body dies, the soul lives on in another dimension, and many believe it eventually reincarnates into another body to continue its journey toward enlightenment.
Thanks to the courage of one psychiatrist 20 years ago to write the book “Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient and the Past Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives,” more people are experiencing these truths firsthand through past-life regression therapy.
In the book, Dr. Brian Weiss shares the story of how his patient Catherine — who suffered from severe anxiety and phobia — was able to heal through past-life regression. Under hypnosis, she began remembering details about lives more than 4,000 years ago, and as she recalled these memories, her symptoms of anxiety and her phobias disappeared.
At the time, Weiss admits he was very skeptical and did not believe in past lives or reincarnation, until one day Catherine began revealing personal details about his life, including the life and death of his first son, who died 10 years before she ever came into his office.
“There were spiritual beings, or ‘masters,’ around her telling her the information she was relaying to me, and she was completely correct. That is how she got my attention, and that was the beginning of the change for me,” Weiss tells Elevated Existence in the September 2012 issue’s cover story.
Now, with more than 30 years of experience regressing more than 4,000 people, Weiss has seen many relinquish their fear of death and find solace from the grief of losing loved ones because of the realization that there is no death. The soul not only lives on, but it also returns to this physical world with many of the same people again and again. And like Catherine, many of the physical and emotional symptoms plaguing them in their current lives begin to disappear. He explains this and more in the cover story.
Reinforcing the belief that we are all souls here on a human journey, author and psychologist Robert Holden explains how we can remember our true nature through six principles. These can help us shift from the ego-minded self we learn to identify with in this physical world to what he calls the “unconditioned self,” which is the true essence of who we are inside.
Once we begin to understand our soul never dies, and who we really are — a perfect spirit inhabiting an imperfect human body — we begin to realize while the body can encounter harm, the soul is indestructible. Knowing this, I ask myself, and all of you — what is there really to be afraid of?
Blessings and love to you all!
