Deepak Chopra’s Secrets of Meditation Software

Wild Divine, a company offering relaxation training products, released its newest software title, “Deepak Chopra’s Secrets of Meditation,” which works on both PC and MAC computers.

Using the Wild Divine system, the new program features exercises to teach individuals how to relax and more fully enjoy the benefits of improved meditation, according to the company.

The software platform and its interface, the IOM, is the world’s only Active Feedback system, allowing users to take part in interactive audio-visual presentations. Active Feedback picks up the physiological energy of your body through the IOM, a painless interface that attaches to three fingers. Individuals can learn to concentrate their mind and body on interactive exercises to achieve a higher state of mental control through relaxation.

By sitting motionless, using only the power of their mind, they will actually control elements on the screen.

“I have teamed up with Kyle Widner and Wild Divine to create an interactive software training program called Deepak Chopra’s Secrets of Meditation,” Chopra said in a released statement. “What is unique and exciting about this program is the IOM sensor feedback technology. About the size of an iPod, it combines with software on your computer to give you instant feedback on the changes in the level of stress, tension, or relaxation in your body.”

“Deepak Chopra’s Secrets of Meditation” features 20 full length guided practice videos and 10 inspirational videos. Each lesson is augmented by exercises that utilize Wild Divine’s IOM hardware, which connects via a standard USB port (and is purchased separately from the software). The IOM sensor measures skin conductivity, heart rate and breathing rate.

Packages are available starting at $299.95.

The Chopra Center Offers Free 21-Day Meditation Challenge

Starting August 15, The Chopra Center is launching its Summer 2011 Meditation Challenge, where participants will receive a free guided audio meditation and instruction each day based on the teachings of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, founded by Deepak Chopra, M.D. and David Simon, M.D.

“At the Chopra Center over the past few years we have seen a rapidly growing interest and demand for meditation instruction and meditation retreats as people become more and more aware of its profound benefits for our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being,” Chopra said.

Those interested in participating can sign up for FREE at www.chopracentermeditation.com.

“We created the 21-Day Meditation Challenge to offer people step-by-step guidance and help them experience first-hand how practical meditation really is and how immediate and profound the benefits are,” Chopra said.

Chopra recently appeared on the Dr. Oz show to discuss meditation as a tool for weight loss, explaining: “Meditation is one of the most effective ways to release the stress, conditioned behavior, and negative thought-loops that keep many people in a cycle of overeating. We also know that regular meditation decreases the body’s production of cortisol and other ‘stress hormones’ that cause us to hold onto excess weight and accelerate aging,” he said.

Do something good for yourself this summer, and sign up for this! You WILL see a difference in 21 days!

Deepak Chopra Takes Video Games to the Spiritual Level

Coming to an Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii near you … Deepak Chopra is launching a new video game based on meditation called Leela (which means ‘play’ in Sanskrit) in the United States on November 8, 2011, according to an Associated Press report.

“I personally believe that you can accelerate neural development and biological evolution through video games,” Chopra said in  the report. “Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re doing right now. What  we’re doing is creating addictions to violence, adrenaline and mindlessness,  rather than mindfulness. That was my personal motivation to get involved in  this medium.”

Leela, developed with THQ Inc., can be used with Xbox 360’s Kinect system to guide users through meditation exercises without the use of  remote, or with Nintendo Wii’s gaming system. The game consists of seven different  interactive exercises based on the chakra system. Gamers will use their body to  control the graphics on the screen – all while calming music is playing in the  background. And like any good game, it increases in difficulty as the player  goes along, the AP reported.

Additionally, one of the guided meditative modes will use Xbox Kinect’s depth sensor to measure seated players’ breathing patterns, and as the  player’s chest moves, they are instructed on how to control their breathing – thanks to the voice of yoga instructor Elena Brower.

Chopra believes that if gaming consoles add the abilities to wirelessly measure brain waves and intervals between heartbeats, they they could be even more beneficial to health and wellness, he told the AP.

“It’s all doable now,” said Chopra in the report. “We just have to bring it all together. If we can measure what’s happening  in your body, your heart, your emotions, your breath and your mind, then  there’s no reason why we can’t create a new generation of video games that can  help accelerate the personal, psychological, emotional and spiritual development of human beings.”
