VIDEO: Coping with Disappointment

The pain of disappointment is universal. We have all felt it.

A situation doesn’t turn out the way we thought it would. A friend or family member doesn’t treat us the way we think they should.

Disappointment can hurt — not only our hearts, but also our vibration.

It can bring us down, and in some cases, we become so afraid of it, we prepare ourselves for it in advance, thinking the blow won’t be as bad that way. But that leads to self-sabotage rather than creating an ideal outcome.

But disappointment doesn’t have to be feared.

There are ways of changing how we feel about it and react to it in the moment, and that is what I’m sharing in the below video — four things to do next time you find yourself disappointed to cope, feel better, and bring your vibration back up!

“Already Here: A Doctor Discovers the Truth About Heaven,” by Leo Galland M.D.
In his new book, Dr. Leo Galland tells of his son Christopher’s death at the age of 22, and the direct visual evidence Christopher showed him that our souls do go on. In life, Christopher was a brain-damaged special needs child who challenged everyone he knew with his unpredictable behavior and uncanny insights. After his death, Christopher’s wisdom was revealed to Leo over the course of a year, coalescing into three themes, which Leo calls the Gift of the Opposite, the Gift of Presence, and the Gift of Timelessness. This book offers a unique dialogue in which an analytical, scientific mind tries to comprehend truths from another plane of existence — one that, nonetheless, is inseparable from our own.

Then she made the decision to become unmedicated, reaching out to the natural, holistic health realm. And after years of practice and research, Madisyn developed an integrative wellness program that put her back in the driver’s seat of her health, and ultimately, her life.

“The Year of Less: How I Stopped Shopping, Gave Away My Belongings, and Discovered Life is Worth More Than Anything You Can Buy in a Store,” by Cait Flanders
In her late twenties, Cait Flanders found herself stuck in the consumerism cycle that grips so many of us: earn more, buy more, want more, rinse, repeat. Even after she worked her way out of nearly $30,000 of consumer debt, her old habits took hold again — until she realized nothing she was doing or buying was making her happy. So she decided to set herself a challenge: she would not shop for an entire year.

This book documents her life for twelve months during which she bought only consumables: groceries, toiletries, gas for her car. Along the way, she challenged herself to consume less of many other things besides shopping — decluttering her apartment; getting rid of 70 percent of her belongings; learning how to fix things rather than throw them away; researching the zero waste movement; and completing a television ban. At every stage, she learned that the less she consumed, the more fulfilled she felt.
